How do I take care of my jewellery?

Fine jewellery is made to be worn and to last, and a little attention keeps it that way. To help your piece stay as beautiful as the day it arrived, please note the following.

Cleaning

Clean with lukewarm water and a mild soap, using a soft cloth rather than a brush. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing or polishing. Avoid ultrasonic or steam cleaners, the vibration and heat can loosen settings or affect natural black and brown diamonds more than clear white stones.

If your piece includes a coloured gemstone, ruby, sapphire, or emerald, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth only, and avoid water or chemical cleaners entirely, as some coloured stones are more porous and sensitive than diamond.

Care and storage

Store each piece separately in the pouch or box it arrived in, to prevent scratches from other jewellery.

Protect your piece from impact and pressure, a hard knock can loosen a setting even if the metal itself shows no visible damage.

Apply perfume, lotion, and cosmetics before putting your jewellery on, and allow them to dry fully first. Chemicals are the most common cause of dulling on gold over time.

Warranty and repairs

Every piece includes a lifetime craftsmanship warranty, covering manufacturing issues such as a loose stone or a clasp fault. It does not cover accidental damage or wear from everyday impact. For cleaning beyond what's outlined here, a repair, or a resizing, message me directly, every request is handled personally, not by a call centre.

That covers the mother-of-pearl-equivalent gap (your coloured gemstones), the "when to contact a specialist" gap, and states the warranty's actual boundary plainly, the thing this whole project flagged as needing honesty about back when the warranty language was first written, rather than leaving it as an implied, undefined promise the way it's read on every product page so far.

For any question about caring for your Rita El Hage Jewellery piece, message me directly through the Contact page. I answer every enquiry personally.
